Seduced by imperfection

I like things that are irregular, imperfect and weathered. I love scars, freckles, wrinkles, stretch marks and grey hair. Which is just as well, as I've been acquiring those over the years! I love things, and people, with stories to tell - trees twisted by the wind; pebbles worn smooth by the sea; twigs and moss curved into a nest by the pressure of a nesting bird's breast.

When I first started making jewellery, I was living in London. Now I've moved home to Devon, and it's starting to show in the pieces I'm producing and the materials I'm choosing. Sea glass, semi-precious stones and textured wood reflect my surroundings, and I'm sure there'll be more blogging about that as time goes on.

This blog is intended to serve as a showcase for my work, and as an invitation to look closely at the hidden beauty around you - chances are it isn't symmetrical, doesn't have straight lines and wasn't designed by anyone wearing a suit. These are the little low heavens that make me feel fully at home on earth. I hope you'll join me in looking for them and loving them.
